Cole Haan and Slack Collaborate on Sneakers in Slack Colors

Designer and retailer Cole Haan has partnered with Slack  (WORK) – Get Report to create a limited edition range of sneakers in the colors of the business-collaboration platform’s logo.

The footwear collection is designed based on Slack’s color palette — blue, red, lemon, and green — on Cole Haan’s bright white sneakers.

“Cole Haan, with a little help from Slack, is able to completely rewrite the rules for modern-day footwear,” said Julie Liegl, chief marketing officer at Slack, in a statement.

“Collaboration is key to bringing any product to life, and it’s especially rewarding when it’s a product we can physically see.”

The Slack-styled footwear is part of Cole Haan’s Generation Zerogrand brand, known for its modern and casual silhouette. 

The sneakers, priced at $120, are available on Cole Haan’s website and at select international stores starting Wednesday.

U.S., Greece Formally Agree to Collaborate on Science and Technology

The United States and Greece entered a fresh agreement to promote and collaboratively advance research and development efforts.

According to a news release from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the  U.S.-Greece Science and Technology Agreement was officially signed in Thessaloniki, Greece Monday by the country’s Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis and U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

Pompeo will also visit Vatican City and other Mediterranean countries during his time abroad. 

U.S. Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios attended the official signing ceremony and is also meeting with other Greek officials this week to discuss further collective tech-focused pursuits. He said in a statement that the consensus “will pave the way for R&D investment, technological advancement, and continued leadership in cutting edge fields.”

MTU and Northwestern Michigan College to Collaborate on Great Lakes Research

their intent to collaborate on Great Lakes research, with a focus on marine technology,
freshwater science and professional development.

At a signing ceremony held Wednesday, Sept. 16, Michigan Tech President Rick Koubek

Boston’s rival NPR stations collaborate on local news segment for national podcast

Boston public radio rivals WBUR and GBH are teaming up for the first time as NPR adds local coverage to its “Consider This” podcast.

“Consider This” was launched in March as a weekday afternoon podcast on the coronavirus crisis, but was revamped in June to provide perspective on the day’s major national news in about 15 minutes.

The WBUR-GBH team and 10 other public radio stations will contribute local reporting for the podcast, which is available at 5 p.m. WBUR’s Paris Alston and GBH’s Arun Rath will host the Boston segment on alternating weeks, joined by reporters from both stations.

The Boston segment, which will run anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes, features a main story and a roundup of headlines. It launched Wednesday.
