Cleveland Heights voters asked to unify technical aspects of city charter, strong mayor with Issue 6

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — With their first mayoral election coming up in 2021, local voters are being asked to approve Issue 6 on Nov. 3, described as a housekeeping measure for the new version of City Hall.

The objective is to clear the way for a possible mayoral run-off election without any possible protests or procedural disputes being lodged.

“Voting ‘yes’ on Issue 6 clarifies the filing date for mayoral candidates by unifying two different parts of the City Charter,” said Tony Cuda, campaign manager for Citizens for An Elected Mayor.
